ARTIST STATEMENT

I make functional ceramics (mugs, vases, and other forms) with a sculptural quality, grounded in textural repetition and experimentation. I coil build with strips of clay and pinch it to produce a rich, tactile surface. I primarily use high-fire clay with glaze as well as low-fire earthenware.
